There are many ways to conclude a painting, which is difficult because it may be one of many possible conclusions. This painting and Contemplating in Slow Motion were painted in tandem, going back and forth many times in many layers. Beginning with irregular painted lines, these led to sessions of making decisions and pretending I knew when to stop!
