Blue Pot II
When I began painting. I discovered a new love for history of artists from all eras and how each developed their style. One of my favorites is Piet Mondrian. He may be best known for his regular grid shaped paintings. However, what I love are his early paintings that were more representative of trees or objects, which he proceeded to paint again and again morphing into the grids. The objects of this painting are influenced by his series of work with a blue pot. Taking a lot of liberty with this idea, it looks nothing like his great works. However, I do love this game!
Oil, 12” x 12” Framed
