Zinnias are full of color and life, but the meaning of a Zinnia is friendship, endurance, daily remembrance, and goodness. We all need more of these things in our lives. My Zinnia’s were inspired by an exceptionally large one bloom painting I saw in Sausalito when I first started my art journey. I came across that original image recently and compared it to my evolution of these paintings. Rosee, Sunnie and Violet have taken just over a year to create - there are about fifteen layers of oil paint in the foliage and countless additional layers in the bloom itself. I lost track of the number of paint tubes I used on these beauties! Time to plant some more seeds…
