    DAFA Mission:

    ● Promote and advance fiber art through the education of its members and the public with the help of exhibitions, workshops, wearable art–style shows and educational activities.

    Our History:

    Dallas Area Fiber Artists was founded in 1970 after several Dallas embroiderers took a stitchery class taught by Mary Heikman. Mary was a Houston art teacher who was instrumental in forming the Houston Area Fiber Artists (HAFA) group. We were initially named “Creative Stitchers” but soon became known as the Dallas Fiber Artists, which reflected the members’ eclectic and accomplished range of fiber interests.

    DH&SG Mission:

    Dallas Handweavers and Spinners Guild is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and our mission is to educate the community about weaving, spinning and the fiber arts. Begun in 1972, DH&SG continues to bring programming and hands-on experiences to the surrounding community.

    Our History:

    Founded in 1972, The Dallas Handweavers and Spinners Guild is dedicated to promoting the art of weaving and the craft of fiber work through education, member activities, and mutual support. The Guild promotes fellowship among members with meetings Sept. through May, educational workshops and community demonstrations.

    FWWG Mission:

    Fort Worth Weavers Guild purposes are to promote an interest in handweaving and related fiber arts, to encourage the highest standards in craftsmanship, and to provide support and training resources to handweavers on the art and craft of handweaving.
